Life is like a trial balance. The academe life teaches you what you need to learn. Your four years, may be the best and worst in your academe life. You may spend endless hours figuring out how to balance, what to “debit” and what to “credit”. Priorities need to be set straight, sacrifices must be made. You may not enjoy what you are doing, at some point, you may get tired of this routine of reading and mastering the “art”, but rest assured it will be worth it.

As you graduate, the walls of idealism shall crumble, and you shall see what the real world is. Trust me, it is not a pretty sight. If you think cheating in a major exam is dirty, think again, my child. You may face situations that may make or break you… but know that sometimes, you need to compromise for you to survive. Get stuck with the idealism that “Life is fair”, and you shall starve yourself. Bend your principles, but never forget them. Keep them rooted in your heart and in your mind. Business is even dirtier than politics, so be mindful of your actions, be careful with your words. You may have to eat something that is hard to swallow. You may puke it out because of disgust, but you must learn to suck it up. If you want to make it out there, just do it.

Others may be unfair to you but never be unfair to other people. Live and let live. Keep your faith and your feet on the ground. Then, despite the “debits” and “credits” in our lives, despite the “gains” and the “losses” you may incur, your life will be balanced.
